It's a newer technology available and it really is just a lot better than what the time-delayed systems used to be. Basically, with the time-delayed system it was preprogrammed when your brakes would engage. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 we're going to be taking a look at, and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195. Now we're going to be installing this in conjunction with 3024-P, which is a Tekonsha plug in wiring adapter for electric brake controllers. So here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. Now this is a proportional brake controller, which means that it's going to apply the same amount of pressure and force to our trailer brakes at the same time that we're applying our brakes to our vehicle. What's really nice about it being a proportional brake controller is that when we're not moving, and we're not slowing down, say if we're at a stoplight, it's not going to apply any brakes to our trailer, saving our brakes on our trailer from wearing out prematurely. It's only going to apply our brakes when the internal sensor inside of our brake controller senses that we're slowing down. Now if we come to our arrow buttons over here, this is going to be for our gain control and our max power. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ram 2500 90885- Video
Today we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 proportional trailer brake control. This is going to work for one up to four axles. Its part number is 90885. To make our install easier, we're also going to be using part number 3024-P. That's going to be our Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter for the electronic brake controllers. Now, the Prodigy P2 is a proportional brake controller, which is designed to work for one up to four axles. This is going to be great for just standard electric brakes or electric over hydraulic brakes. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Ram 2500- Video
Today we're going to be reviewing and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, which control one to four axles for a proportional braking system, part number 90195, on a 2015 Ram 2500. This is a proportional brake controller, so it will sense how hard you're hitting the brakes, and send the correct amount of power back to the trailer, as opposed to a time delay braking system, which sends power back to the trailer once you've hit your brakes, and doesn't let off until you release your brakes. This will give you much smoother braking with your trailer. Over here, this up button, changes your trailer gain. If you need more power going to the trailer breaks, it can provide that for you. The down button will lower the power going to the brakes. You can set it at whatever your trailer requires. Up here, in the top right corner, we've got the boost button. more
